Which design possibilities are offered by light construction materials? Under which general conditions can light construction materials be produced? - and how can innovative light construction ideas be successfully marketed? These are the questions which are now particularly concerning students at the Lippe and Höxter, Coburg Universities of Applied Sciences and Cologne Furniture Technical College. They are participating in the interzum Future Challenge 2007 competition, which Koelnmesse is organizing within the framework of interzum 2007. This competition calls on the students from the faculties of processing technology, design and business to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation: what is required are future-compatible light construction solutions which take account of the social transformation and with it the changed requirements placed on furniture and interior design. The ideas submitted will be assessed by a renowned specialist jury - which will decide which entry receives the material prize worth 5,000.--: the winners can look forward to a professional trade fair presentation at interzum 2007. All the designs and creations will also be presented there in a special show: at the centre of the Trade Fair Boulevard (Messeboulevard) the young ideas covering all aspects of lightweight construction will be shown for everyone to admire. As an impulse-generating event from 9th to 12th May 2007, interzum, the leading trend fair for furniture manufacture and interior design, will show the latest products, technologies, developments and design trends for the industry's supplying sectors. Here once again visions are being developed in the most diverse areas for future-compatible further development in the sector. In 2007 interzum will be held in the attractive setting of the new Northern Halls at Koelnmesse. Read this new at Interzum.com
