CEDARBURG, Wis. — Massage chair specialist Raffel Comfort Sciences here has been named one of 20 semi-finalists in Forbes.com’s Boost Your Business contest.
Forbes.com, the Web site of the venerable business magazine, is inviting people to help choose the best 500-word small business plan submitted by entrepreneurs nationwide. Voting is open during August. The field will be narrowed to five finalists. Second-round judging also will be conducted via online voting.
All of the business plans are available at www.forbes.com/boostyourbiz, along with a video introduction delivered by each contestant. The contest is sponsored by HP. Raffel Comfort Science and its Tranquil Ease brand offers massage, sleep, therapeutic and personal comfort products to promote wellness and relaxation for home, office and auto use.
“We are ecstatic and proud to have been selected from a field of more than 1,000 plans subhmitted,” said Raffel CEO John Howman.
The semi-finalists represent a range of U.S. industries, from energy and security to toddler gear and gourmet foods.
"It's a fascinating group of committed entrepreneurs," said Brett Nelson, Forbes.com entrepreneurs editor. “Hopefully this contest will spur all of them to even greater accomplishments.”
The five finalists will be flown to New York City to give live presentations before an expert panel of judges. The winner will receive $100,000 in cash. Runners-up will be awarded HP products and services.
